I have been having fun cycling and getting used to my bike. This past week I rode about 60 miles total. Most of the rides were in the morning. Today it was so gorgeous out that I went for a 16 mile ride right after lunch while Abigail kept the little ones. It was a great time of the day to ride. The sunshine was bright and there was very little traffic out.
I have also been doing the 30 day shred about 4 times a week in the last few weeks. That is such a great workout! I use 6.6 lb weights and that really makes level one a bit more challenging.
Have I been running you ask? Nope, not once. I have a pulled muscle or something where my hamstring goes into my pelvic area...not sure what it is, but it hurts to even stretch. Cycling and the 30 day shred do not seem to bother me. Something about the running movement is making it worse, so no running for now.
That means no half marathon for me. I'm really sad about that, but I am not going to push and make things worse. I'm also STILL having lower right abdomen pain when I run and I am thinking it could possibly be a sports hernia. The pain is not near as severe as when it was injured last year, but I still feel something that is not right.
We just got back from a fun family weekend at Union University! Gracie is doing great there and has met some of the sweetest people! We loved getting to see her and meet her new friends!
Loving this fall weather!

the best part is that you have found contentment in still getting outside in the gorgeous outdoors through biking! i'm so glad that does not bother you! i'm sorry you have pains still. perhaps an extended time off from the running motion will heal it.
ReplyDeleteHopefully!
ReplyDeleteGlad you hear you have been able to bike, Kim. I love the Shred too. I'm hoping to do that this winter, to help with my lack of running very much in the cold weather.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about the 1/2. Maybe next year.
Hi Kim! Just praying for you tonight, and wanted to stop by and tell you. Hope you have a great Christmas!
